This is pretty close to my idea of perfection: Liddy got ready at her home, in an unfussy way. Tim balanced getting ready with assisting with the final preparations at his family home, the place where he would be married in a few short hours. The event was a family project, the result of combined efforts and a true roll-up-your-sleeves attitude from both sides. The ceremony was in a lovingly decorated, intimate barn on the property, with just immediate family and friends. While additional guests arrived for the tented gala reception via trolley shuttle, we escaped off-site for a relaxed portrait session around the Pennsylvania countryside.
Every last detail suited their personality and style: an eclectic mix of vintage china, massive farmhouse tables, varied and dynamic florals, a vintage sofa as the sweetheart table, an all-vegan menu by Fancy Fig Catering, a custom coffee bar complete with barista, and the sweet sounds of Nightingale Jazz Band permeating every space. The caterers even used red Radio Flyer wagons to cart the dirty dishes back to the house. But the most important detail to mention is the sheer love and respect Liddy and Tim, and their families, so clearly have for each other.
Many thanks to Melanie Pack, once again, for her lovely work as second photographer. It is no small task to translate this kind of effort and love through photos, so I hope we told the story in a meaningful way that did it justice. It was such a joy to photograph and be a part of.
