I would say Rebecca and Shawn had the “perfect day”, because it felt like a seamless mesh of ceremony, family, friends, and tradition – but the credit really goes to them, not the “day”. Their incredible grace, positive attitude, and willingness to simply roll with the events of the day was simply unreal.
As I was driving out my driveway, Becca called to let me know the power was out at the salon – so they were ditching formal hair and makeup and heading back to the Pineapple Hill Inn B&B where everyone was staying. Kicker was, the power was out there too – and as innkeepers Scott and Roy were running around like mad trying to feed and caffeinate their guests, Becca and her bridesmaids were completely unfazed. Thankfully, the power came back on in time for showers and coffee and DIY hair and makeup – and you would never know the day had started any way other than as planned.
The church service was the shining star, with minimal photos (insisting we, too, be present and benefit from the well thought-out ceremony) and the reception at Mountain Lakes House in Princeton was reminiscent of an English garden party – complete with fascinators and the always-elegant offerings of Chez Alice Catering. Add to all of this the fact that Shawn gave his groomsmen Light Sabers as a gift (and really nice ones to boot!) that they were all too happy to play with during the reception…it was just a fun, rewarding day. And I got to work with my friend Melanie Pack, who assisted as second photographer for the day.
Please enjoy the photos, and as always, I welcome your feedback. Thanks!
