1. What is the process?

First, we will sit down for a planning meeting to discuss your objectives and begin forming a project plan. I’ll take all of your information back to my office, and will prepare a detailed proposal, which you will receive and sign electronically. Once we have a mutually aligned strategy and signed agreement, I will forward an invoice via email. 50% of your total is due up front, with the remaining 50% due upon file delivery.

2. What methods of payment do you accept?

I accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash or check (made out to Karin Belgrave Photography, LLC). Credit card payments are processed securely, directly from your invoice. Invoices also include my address if you prefer to mail a check.

3. Do you have insurance?

Yes, I carry both liability and equipment insurance policies.

4. Are you willing to travel?

Absolutely. With enough notice I will travel anywhere. Of course, travel fees apply outside a 50 mile radius of my home, but they are very reasonable. Overnight and/or more involved travel is based on actual costs as much as possible.

5. I understand your “day rate”, but what are “licensing fees”?

I separate the licensing of your final images from the “day rate” (which includes shooting, editing, and post-processing) so your costs are tailored exactly to your needs. If I only offered “unlimited global use” licensing, costs would be prohibitive for most smaller businesses. So, if you just need small-scale print and web use, your image licensing will be significantly less than what a massive multi-national advertising campaign would spend. It sounds confusing, but really is the most straightforward way to conduct commercial business. I’m happy to discuss this further when we meet.
